Description of the overall mission of this organization: Beat the Streets Providence is committed to starting scholastic wrestling teams in order to inspire urban youth. Through wrestling we provide at-risk youth with lessons on the mat, support in the classroom, and strong mentors to guide them towards long term success. 
Ages of youth served: 6^th, 7^th and 8^th graders
Name of Mentor: Billy Watterson
Hours worked: 2 days a week Mondays and Wednesdays 2pm - 6pm, I have also worked select Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for dual meets, tournaments and events for the youth.
Description of your role and duties: (include administrative or hands-on or both)
Description of the culture of the place: The environment you work in is a school. I have been familiar with the front office, the cafeteria, and the gymnasium. As a coach I wear workout gear, which include shorts, t-shirts, sweat pants, windbreakers, warm up jackets and hooded sweatshirts. Seems like other youth mentors wear what is comfortable for teaching.   
Additional Requirements: If you have a car or have the opportunity to use a car life will be less stressful. Although bus stops are right around of all Middle Schools.
Special notes on process of getting this internship: Del Sesto Middle School is 1 of 7 Providence Middle Schools with wrestling programs. Roger Willams, Nathan Bishop, UCAP, Gilbert Stewart Esek Hopkins and Segue Middle School.
Other internship opportunities with this organization: Beat the Streets program works under PASA Afterzone Alliance. Afterzone puts youth designed learning programs in school during afterschool activity times. You will work with and alongside with other youth programs, making connections and networking with individuals with similar goals.
