Description of the overall mission of this organization:To provide high quality care to children while creating strong foundations and relationships with the children and families that we serve while fostering positive attitudes to learning.

Description of your role and duties: (include administrative or hands-on or both): 

• EFFECTIVE PARENT COMMUNICATION

• Effective staff-staff communication
• Teaching 8 infants
• Mentor to all infant teachers
• Document and assess the children 
• Supervise staff; delegate tasks

Description of the culture of the place (how many people in the office, dress code, communication style): 1 or 2 people working in the front office at a time (the director and sometimes the assistant director), dress code- no leggings, semi professional clothing (covered and respectable), communication style- open! Trusting relationships with the children as well as their families, open relationships with coworkers!!

Additional Requirements: (travel, etc) Professional development hours (20 a year), CPR certification, lesson planning, RIELDS (Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards) knowledge, Teaching Strategies Gold assessment tool knowledge

Special notes on process of getting this internship: This has been my full-time job for 6 years. I focused more on my administration side of the job for this internship. I was able to grow deeper in my office role (both as a supervisor as well as the infant coordinator)
