Description of the overall mission of this organization: "To awaken curiosity and increase independent learning, creativity, and innovation in kids 8 and up – and adults, too! Hoping to eventually be able to open the doors to our museum soon."

Hours worked: 10-12 hours a week

3 days 2 hours at a program and 4-6 hours at home

Description of your role and duties: Hands on and a bit of administrative. Was able to assist in the classroom when we had the program days. We did things like help give input, helped kids gain some idea and some creativity for their projects. Did evaluation reports and entered into excel. Did some grant research. program extension.

Description of the culture of the place: Although they do not have a site, they do plan meetings and group plannings to meet some of the other mentors and to discuss ideas or new plans. They say dress a comfortable because its after school and it includes art and science so sometimes it can be pretty messy. A lot of the communication is done through email and phone messages, make sure you sync their calendar to have all the dates, times and places of the mettings or after school programs.

Additional Requirements: Lots of traveling for different sites to different programs. But they are very flexible as to how far you are able to go.
