Description of the overall mission of this organization: To transform the lives of Woonsocket children through high quality educational opportunities and family support.
Ages of youth served: K-12
Hours of internship: (number of hours, days, times) We are extremely flexible working around a student’s other commitments, but most of the internship hours are afterschool during afterschool hours starting at 1:30pm and ending at 6:00pm depending on the school. There could be daytime hours for specific projects and evening hours during Family Engagement Events. The programs run Monday to Friday.
Description of role and duties: (include administrative or hands-on or both) Job Description:  Roles will include both administrative and hands on activities. The YD Intern would work with students at Coleman Elementary in grades K-5, at Citizens Elementary in grades 3-5, at the Woonsocket Middle School in grades 6-8 and at the Woonsocket High School in grades 9-12. We expect our staff to maintain a professional attitude, treat all children with dignity and respect, and help motivate children to learn. Duties include greeting students, helping with homework assignments, setting up and distributing snacks, and general housekeeping tasks. Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed materials and supplies.   Perform general basic administrative duties which may include taking attendance, assisting parents to sign out their children, data entry, making copies, internet research, and filing. In addition will have the opportunity to to plan and teach various educational enrichment programs.

Description of the culture of the place (how many people in the office, dress code, communication style) Interns will work both at the school sites and at our main office. Dress code is business casual in both locations. The number of people depends on the building. In the schools it will also include teaching and administrative personal, as well as program contractors, students and CCF staff.
