Hours worked: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 1:00-5:30, Wednesday 1-3
Description of your role and duties: Working 1-on-1 with children with disabilities in their homes on individualized goals in the areas of social, academic, and self-care using the science of Applied Behavioral Analysis. Duties include training (cpr, first aid, safety care), observations by program supervisors, following lesson plans, and treating challenging behaviors.
Description of the culture of the place (how many people in the office, dress code, communication style): Home-based position, dress code is casual and athletic (sneakers, t-shirt, etc) to be able to move around with children. Trainings are held at the office, the dress code is casual, and communication style is through email, phone, and supervisor visits out to your home sites while you are working.
Additional Requirements: You must be able to travel to different homes around the state.
Special notes on process of getting this internship: I was hired and able to use this position as my internship. Position requires 1-2 years of experience working with children with disabilities.
