Hours worked: I have worked 180 hours at Inspiring Minds. I worked every Monday morning from 9:00am-3:30pm and every Wednesday 11:45am to 5:00pm.
Description of your role and duties: During my time at Inspiring Minds I was a Site Leader Intern at Asa Messer Elementary School in Providence, providing the role of both admin and hands-on. Some of my responsibilities were as followed: Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the public school and Inspiring Minds, answer volunteer/faculty emails, and phone calls, send periodic updates to volunteers, monitor the schedule of all volunteer and student participation, and collect forms including permission slips, data consent forms, event flyers, and surveys.
Description of the culture of the place: In the office there can be up to 4 people: my mentor who is the Executive Director, Director of Volunteer Services, RIC Intern, and Brown Swearer Center Work Study student. The dress is business casual in the office. The communication style is open with any questions, comments or concerns.
