Description of your role and duties: (include administrative or hands-on or both)
The majority of my time at the Olneyville library was done doing research and planning programming. The Library has a very low teen attendance, and so a majority of my work was to come up with ways to bring more teens into the library. This was done through research to expand the teen collection, creating passive programming in YA collection, displays, and outside research of Teen Spaces in other libraries. In addition I lead the planning of programming for both Money Smart week, a national financial literacy week of events, and National Poetry Month.
Description of the culture of the place (how many people in the office, dress code, communication style)
The Olneyville library is a very small work community with only three main staff. The dress code is semi-professional and their communication style is also very professional.
Additional Requirements: (travel, etc)
There were no additional requirements for my position here.
