Description of the overall mission of this organization:
The mission of Blackstone Academy Charter School is to build a strong community of learners and leaders. Our small school environment foster independent inquiry, teamwork, and communication. Our students develop the skills to solve problems and use their voices in ways that lead to success in the academic, social, and professional arenas. They demonstrate their achievements through a process of discovery, presentation, and reflection. Community involvement and community improvement are key themes at BACS.
Ages of youth served: 14-18
Hours of internship: (number of hours, days, times) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 230-530pm. Some Saturdays are available to fulfill any hour requirements.
Description of role and duties: (include administrative, hands-on, or both)
Interns will help facilitate an after school program for students at one of the highest performing high schools in the state of Rhode Island.
They will provide assistance in daily administration of operations.
Will provide basic tutoring and mentoring activities, maybe lead a specialized group or club in areas related to the arts, sports, fitness, technology, or other specialized areas of expertise.
Assist in school trips and other program activities.

Blackstone Academy is a school of 235 students from Pawtucket, Providence, and Central Falls. We have a staff of about 30 hard working, caring individuals who go above and beyond for our students.
Dress code is casual and dependent on that day's activities.
Communication takes place in person in our small school environment. Digital communication is used widely as well.
Additional Requirements: (travel, etc).
There maybe some driving involved if intern is comfortable with it.
